If you’re an avid reader, and have visited numerous review sites to leave your mark, whether good or bad, then you’d probably like to know that you can actually make money from writing book reviews on your own site.
Instead of heading over to Amazon or other related sites and leaving behind what you thought of the book, you can, instead, write a review on hubpages, or your blog, and then link to the book through different programs, which pay you a percentage of the revenues generated by the sale.
There are a few steps that you’ll need to take in order to learn how to make money online writing book reviews.
Step #1 – Find a company who sells the books you want to review. Most reviewers will head over to Amazon.com and sign up for a partner account. Partner, or affiliate, means that you are able to receive a commission off of any sales you generate for them. When a visitor clicks the link on your blog to buy the book, you get paid. Without this account, though, Amazon won’t understand where the traffic came from, and won’t be able to pay you. Amazon is probably the easiest, because of the volume of sales and ease of use, but there are a number of other options.

Step #2 – Write a new review on your blog. Setup a new post on your blog, and give an honest review of what you thought. Try not to hype the book unless you really think it is worth it. You want to grab their attention, and give them juicy details to help lead them into the book, rather than promising on something that may not deliver by over-hyping it. Be honest - If the book doesn’t deliver on your promises, visitors may lose trust in you and quit relying on you for their reviews.
Step #3 – Promote your review using different methods. Once you’ve written the post, you need to let people know about it. You can use social bookmarks, article marketing, guest posting on other sites, and a few other methods for promoting your site and single reviews. As you continue to promote your site, you’ll receive more and more visitors which, in turn, means you make more money from the reviews you write.
Step #4 – Rinse, and repeat. After you’ve gotten the first book review up, why not write another? You’ve probably read enough books to stay busy for a very long time, and chances are, if you loved the author’s style, other readers will, as well. Writing book reviews right here on hubpages is a great way to receive some extra income.
