Making Money Online Writing Blog Posts

A lot of bloggers try and, unfortunately, fail at writing blog posts to make money online. It happens for quite a few reasons, ranging from lack of motivation, writing the wrong type of blog posts, not using proper monetization techniques, or a wide range of other situations.

You don’t have to let this happen to you, though. With some simple optimization techniques, you’ll be able to start making some money from the posts you write, instead of sitting in the same boat as your friends, paddling around in circles wondering when the money bags will arrive.

If you’re already blogging, then you are doing pretty good for yourself. One of the easiest ways to make money writing blog posts is to write about what you love. If you are passionate about the subject, and can develop a strong following, you stand to make a large amount of money from your website.

Advertisers surrounding your subject of interest will find you as well, and want to either advertise on your site, pay you to review for them, or even pay you to continue blogging, writing for their company.

Once you’ve written the blog posts, though, you have to start getting traffic. You can use social networks such as MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter to explode your statcounter, if you plan to sell advertising by the visitor.

However, if you are looking to make some sales by promoting products or using text based advertising, like Adsense, you’ll want to promote it through the search engines.

To promote your blog posts, you’re going to want to find sites similar to yours that allow you to send in articles for publication. Sites such as eZineArticles, GoArticles, Hubpages, and InfoBarrel are great resources. Other ways are by running your chosen keywords through Google, and emailing sites that appear in the top pages of results with an article you’ve written. These articles will contain links back to your post, which gives you visitors from the site it got published on. Not only do you get direct traffic from the other site, but your rankings among Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other engines increases as well.

Now that traffic is flowing in, you have to monetize it somehow. You can either setup private advertising deals, like the first example, or you can use other programs such as Google’s AdSense text based ads, or Amazon Associates. If your subject of interest is an information based topic, you may want to use AdSense. However, if there are products to promote, joining Amazon Associates is a great for writing blog posts to make money online.

Thank you for your great help. I have backlinked my hubs to digg, stumple upn, reddit, twitter, shetoldme, xomba and now signed up for linkedin. Mu traffic did increase but not as much as I would have thought, with so many backlinks Linkedin is it for articles only or can I backlink hubpages? Twitter - I don't know how to get followers? If you would be so kind and help me there, I would be gbrateful.

Hello Mark, You always have great info. Could I ask you, when you submit articles to places like eZineArticles, are you sending the same article you wrote for your blog post, or are you sending a related article to create a backlink? In other words, does one article get posted in different places or should it be variations of the article? Thank you Mark!

Suppose I place an article for a few months on hubpages and then remove it and place in squidoo for a few months and then on another site ... would it be wise thinking that every time I will get new readers from that new site or would retaining an article on a single site be better since in course of time it would get better rating on search engine?

Not a good idea. For many reasons. Age is a good thing for most articles.
