Making Money With Video

Mark has a new job! Not that I have stopped doing the old job, nor will I stop writing here, but I am now splitting my time between this job and my old job. I am really excited about this one as this is cutting edge video technology and I am in on the ground floor. I am now writing the Vidli blog about making money with video. Vidli is a video licensing company that has created a new (don't ask me how it works) video licensing platform and integrated video management system which allows owners of video content to offer their videos around the world and sell licenses for that product. Think of it as a cross between YouTube and Amazon.

Our main focus is advertising to end users, because this is usually impractical for all but the largest owners of video content.  We already have a substantial library of stock footage ranging from complex medical procedures to Tai Chi training videos.

Which brings me to the meat of this article. I am looking for a favor from any long time readers who would like to see me succeed (I am sure there are plenty who would like the opposite as well :) ).

It appears as though the Federal Government Inc forgot to send us our share of the 17 trillion dollar bailouts being given to the banks and the insurance companies - so we are looking for a little monetary input from other areas.

The company, Vidli,(that is our mascot on the right - the blue footed booby) has an opportunity to present their product to a group of angel investors through a competition being run by vator tv. Basically, people vote for a company entered in this competition and the winner gets to make a presentation to a group of 300 investors put together by Keiretsu Forum, the worlds largest angel investment community at The Angel Capital Expo on 22nd January this year. The expo is being held at Microsoft in California.

We are currently leading the competition and my bosses are so psyched they are already on the way to Cali, but we need more votes to be sure.

I would really appreciate a vote from you - as would the company. As we are all aware, unless you are a banker or work for the government, funds are pretty tight at the moment and this would make a big difference to how much time we can spend on building the company compared to back end fund raising. We are well enough funded for the short term, but this would be the boost we need to make things smooth sailing.
