If there are products that you currently use, that you know other consumers would like to purchase as well, you can make some extra money from your blog or here on hubpages by promoting them in different ways. Writing product reviews has long been a way for entrepreneurs and website owners to generate some sales through Amazon and Ebay.
But - if you’re going to get into the business, you need to make sure that you’re doing it right. Some people will simply place the product, with some specifications about it, and hit publish on their blog. They may generate some sales with this method, but to substantially increase your profits, try these tips.
Tip #1 – You Need To Build Trust – A lot of marketers and bloggers simply forget this aspect of generating sales. When you use your website to promote the products, you have even less time to build their trust than if you were standing face to face trying to recommend a product. Because of this, if you plan to promote different products from your site, you’ll need to make sure the design instills trust, as well as helps let your potential customers know that you are an authority on the subject, and that your word on the products should be taken to heart.

Tip #2 – You Need To Capture Their Attention – After you’ve gotten them to stay on your page, and have a little of their trust on your side, you have to capture their attention. Most times, this is simply by inviting them into the review with an attention grabbing first paragraph. Other times, you may have to funnel visitors to the pages you’re trying to promote products on, and have to use different types of banners or links. Tell them what you want them to do, and where to go, then keep their attention from the beginning of the review, all the way through to the end.
Tip #3 – Use Pictures And Lists To Build Desire – One aspect of a solid review that consumers love to see, is lists and pictures. Using lists to describe all of the products features, and how they benefit you, is a great way to dress up your writing. These lists are also smaller, and consumers love to browse rather than read. Help them skim over the article, if they’re inclined, by making sure there are a couple hero shots, as well as, at least, one list covering the features and benefits.
Tip #4 – Use A Strong Call To Action – Once your visitor has made it to the bottom of the page, you still have to help them figure out what to do, if you want to make a sale from the review. Using a strong call to action, or some method of directing them towards the product sales page will give them a clear understanding of what it is that you want them to do… which is to buy the products you’re reviewing. I will re-iterate - make this a powerful recommendation to buy.

Interesting. Haven't tried product reviews yet (and until I read this hub wouldn't have known where to start!) but I know some of the big earners here on hubpages generate a lot of income from them. Got to be worth a try.

Thank You Mark for sharing your knowledge. I agree making money online is not an overnight event. It takes a long time for some. Others fair a little sooner and make a nice chunk of change. For me I compare learning tech skills allot like the High School guru. I was not one.
A. Some have it in them and are born with understanding or getting it. They have plenty of brain power.
B. Others struggle to learn but eventually get it.
C. Rarely get it, does not fit into their makeup. No matter how hard they work at it.
Tech skills are allot like Algebra was for me in High School. It is similar to trying to put a square peg in a round hole. No amount of trying to 'get it' or determination availed a 'link' to money. As of March 1,2010 Amazon does not allow Colorado residents to make income on their products. Nada, Colorado accounts are closed. Amazon can be on our blogs or hubs but no income. I removed my Amazon products for Ad sense.Our wonderful Governor Ritter wanted more tax money from Amazon. Amazon declined. Although I never made a cent from Amazon, I felt there might be hope.
I would be in the C category. It is not the end of the World. I have made $7.00 in three years, online.
My purpose is to serve. Thank God I do not depend on income from online work. I depend on God, 'He' provides.

I like the ideas of product reviews as it does work, done a few of them and if you can back up the benefits of the product and show evidence sometimes then all the better for making money online.
And often you don't always have to own the product to review it as others may have reviewed it and you can research existing reviews and re-write a great review off others product reviews, which is what I do if I am really interested in the product, but not to buy it yet!

MyMicroJob Admin Michael Roche is a scam artist. I was an employer on that site, and even though I was forced to pay extra to have USA only traffic to my sites.. That is not what I got. Then when I asked for a refund of my money he deleted my account.
