Making money from the internet can stump quite a few people. It’s said that, on average, 95% of people will quit before they get far enough into developing their online business and begin seeing profits. Regardless of what causes them to fail, the people who are making a killing from the internet are utilizing a few major programs, and haven’t given up on their dreams. One of the programs that are helping marketers rake in thousands of dollars is Amazon. Unfortunately, though, beginners are unaware of how to make money online with Amazon affiliates. It’s not near as difficult as you think.

One of the best ways you can start making some affiliate sales, is by setting up a blog around your favorite niche, sports, hobbies, or a wide range of other topics that have an active market, and start writing posts that will build the trust of your readers. If they trust what you’re telling them, they are a lot more likely to purchase what your recommending, than if you were throwing sales pages up that looked exactly like Amazon. Once you’ve got their attention, you can start writing product reviews, or inserting different Amazon widgets and banners to help generate sales.

Making money online with amazon affiliates

When you’re trying to figure out which products are the best to promote, you’ll want to first look at items that you may have purchased, or that you have on your current wish list. Take it from me that it is far easier to write about something you have actually used than it is something you have no interest in and have never tried.

Chances are, if you are into these items, other people in your niche are, as well. Once you’ve gotten these products reviewed on your blog or here at hubpages, you can also consider the best selling items in the category on Amazon. Search for a keyword, and sort the list by “Best Selling”, then grab 4-5 of the top products and write up a new post on your blog highlighting each one. Now that you’ve gotten helpful content, and a few reviews on your site, you’re going to have to promote it in order to receive visitors.

There are numerous methods you can use, from article directories to paid traffic, but whichever you choose, make sure that you exhaust all possible traffic from it before moving on. In order to make sales with Amazon, you need a mixture of quality, trust building writing, as well as a large number of visitors. If you are able to provide informative, authoritative content, the traffic will usually find you. Making money on Amazon is as simple as following these three steps, and maintaining a healthy level of persistence and patience.

Thanks for this. We have been extremely puzzled over our lack of success with Amazon. Now that we've read this may try some experiments via our Pilates site. Sounds like specialism could be the key.

Really good hub mark. I am doing ok with adsense but very poor with Amazon. I think I don't have it in me to sell. As we are taking part in 60 day challenge so I have given amazon a try again and want to see if I get any success through the traffic generated by group promotion.

Also I have a question, when i checked one of my hubs, it says no amazon results. Does that means that the particular product is not in stock and also do we have a way to check that automatically?

I will need to print this one out. I am struggling to be a successful Amazon affiliate. People don't even bother to click!!

Thanks for the share!!

That is a glitch some times with the amazon capsules here. I prefer to chose specific products

I haven't paid much attention to Amazon yet but I really should. So far adsense has been great but I always try to follow advice from experienced Hubbers so I might dabble in Amazon a bit. We'll see how it goes.

Excellent hub as always Mark, one major problem with Amazon is their extremely short-lived cookie, only one day. That means you have to "hit" your visitors when there are looking to buy and not only are in "browse mood". Just my 2 cents, SY

Quite right - choosing the appropriate product that will result in an immediate sale is important.

I keep forgetting to search for the "best selling" and just go with my subject and how it fits. I will have to start doing this.

This is very useful as I am also an affiliate of amazon. I sold ten products there but I dont put amazon in majority of my hubs. The sold products are not related to the hub. Thank you Sir, Miata

Well-written, Mark, with some information many hubbers may not know. Sticking with it long enough to earn money may be one of the the prime reasons why some folks do not earn much with their hubs.

Great info, Mark. I agree...my only Amazon profits tend to come from product reviews. I've been removing most of the amazon adds I put through my hubs with the hope, like you said in another hub, that someone would buy a frying pan while reading your hamburger recipe hub!

Mark, Thanks for another good hub. Amazon has been a major disappointment to me so far. I watched my mother order some books off my hub and they said I've never had an order. I know that is not true, so I wonder why I waste my time with them. I hope that was just a fluke but I still haven't had any orders. I'll try your plan.

Nice hub Mark - I'm learning to write for Amazon and most of my recent hubs have been Amazon orientated. My sales are definitely picking up and this month I've already quadrupled my last months earnings and we're only half way through April. Being an Amazon affiliate can certainly be a profitable way to make money online when we put the work into it :)

Hi Mark, Just like many hubbers here, I've been very disappointed with amazon sales on my pet chicken hubs. But I will try some of your advice, and see how it goes. Thanks.

Dear Mark, I have started to add Amazon products to my hubs and am getting good response to the ones that are highly targeted to the content. Good idea to hand pick the product. Thanks!

Hi Mark. I'm pretty new to hubpages. Is there a tutorial anywhere that will tell me how to add an amazon product to one of my hubs or can anyone out there explain? Thanks in advance. :-)
