Making Money Online By Ghost Writing Blogs For Corporate Clients
68One recent phenomenon that provides and on line money making opportunity is writing blogs for corporate clients. Most corporations do not employ senior executives based on their creative writing skills, so when a corporate blog needs content, they will often use copywriters or force the hapless executive to write something "interesting and informative," once a week.
These painful-to-behold corporate blogs are becoming a standard feature of most corporations and are almost the antithesis of a real blog. So - ghost writing corporate blogs is an interesting was of making money online. I have done a few myself and I will say that the subject matter is likely to be extremely boring. No matter the fact that they pay is reasonable, getting that fine line between entertaining and downright offensive to the company is hard - and I have been fired for over stepping the boundaries on several occasions. Usually I was at the point where I would rather kill myself than write another word on that subject anyway.

Making money online is hard and requires a lot of work. There - I got that out of the way - so if you are looking for the easy answer you can stop reading now, click off somewhere else and go do whatever it...
But - I did get traffic and readers. It is genuinely difficult to come up with something witty and entertaining about high risk corporate loans or invoice factoring once a week and still keep the tone of the Chief Financial Officer who is - at best - vague - about what he thinks this week's blog needs to cover. "Something interesting about this week's recent court case involving Citibank."
So - good pay, boring subjects (if it was interesting it would be easy to write about once a week) vague brief from the CFO who did not want to do the damned blog in the first place and gave up in the third week; trying to write using some one else's voice, and a need for readership about some extremely dull and never-searched-for on the Internet subjects about sums it up. But - you can charge good money for doing this if you are prepared to do good research.
Research is key - especially if this is some esoteric field like loan modification where there are considerable and ever changing rules and regulations to be observed. Nonetheless - if you can demonstrate enough research skills and the ability to adapt, this can be a financially rewarding occupation. I cannot disclose the various blogs I have written in public as that is part of my arrangement. But - If you are interested in hiring me, I have [permission to do so privately to potential clients. There is more than one way to make money online, and as a pro-blogger. this should be an avenue to explore for quite some time.

Great idea - one of the strengths on my annual reviews during my years in corporate life was my writing ability.

I've done a little of this, and you're correct--it is deathly dull. There was an element of job security to it, however--when I was able to become the "public voice" of the company, they were reluctant to let me slip away and leave them to expressing ideas for themselves.

While I've not the same level of blogging experience as you I can definitely relate to "I would rather kill myself than write another word on that subject", lol. I do find it gets very boring writing on the same thing all the time. I like variety and I like the freedom to choose - which hubpages gives me and professional blogging does not!

I agree because I used to write for one of the top Swiss Banks and you know what they say - the Swiss are Germans without a sense of humour - so they didn't appreciate my 'Brit humour' and made me rewrite the stuff over and over again till the last vestage of humour had been squeezed from the blog. Although they seemed okay with the title 'Everything You Want to Gnomes About Giving Us Your Money'

Thanks for this Hubpage Mark. It is a great idea if cash is a little tight. It would certainly be an option if you are feeling the pressure to go back into the workforce while waiting for your online business to reap the rewards.
