Can You Work From Home Online?
60Is Working From Home Online A Possibility?
Spending more time with your family, freeing yourself from a cubicle induced insanity, and saving yourself a lot of money is a possibility, even though most people fail to realize it. And they fail to realize for for a number of reasons, most of which include lack of research and poor advice from self-professed experts. I am a self-professed expert and I recommend you do not take my word for anything.
Go - do your own research - speak to some people I have worked with or recommended. Look carefully at any software I recommend and ask your self if that makes sense. The Internet is a dirty, nasty, scum-infested place with more con men and scam artists per square foot than the worst place you can imagine.
When you work from home online, there are benefits to be had, but do not be fooled into believing it is easy. First place to start is decide how you are going to go about earning from your new work at home approach. If you are having problems thinking of ways to earn money from your living room, give these few some consideration.
Making money blogging – Blogging about topics that interest you is a great way to work from home and make money online. Learning how to monetize traffic that comes into your website is a very strong skill to have. With the endless stream of visitors on the internet, your potential for income is determined by the amount of work you want to put in and the quality of research and [promotional work you do. Blogging is quickly growing in popularity, so if you are considering it, you may want to get involved before the competition gets too heavy.
You can start for free ate a number of places just to dip your toe in the water - including hubpages. The great thing about hubpages is the strong community which means a ready made readership. Sign up here to start making money on hubpages.
Making money online with freelance writing – Freelance writing gigs can pay substantial amounts of money if you are in the right place at the right time and your skill set matches the needs of employers. When you are just beginning you will have to take lower paying jobs, but as you progress and build your name higher paying clients will begin to request your work. The type of work that you will be doing is varied from website reviews, product reviews, informational topics, and other editorial style articles, so you will want to make sure you are well versed in different types of writing.
Data Entry Jobs – Are you an accurate typist? If so you may be able to earn some extra cash entering data for large organizations websites or databases. For these types of positions, the more work you put out, the more you earn. These types of jobs do pay you to work from home, but the amounts that you earn may be lower than the other types of tasks listed here. This simply means that you are going to have to work more hours to earn the same amount you would if you were a successful blogger or freelance writer. Not soething I have3tried myself as my two fingered typing lacks a certain something.
Virtual Assistant – Small offices and home based business flourish when they are able to hire a virtual assistant. For these positions, you are going to want to understand the company that you are working for, their intended business plan or mission goals, and make sure that you stay on top of your game.
Companies want to develop long-term relationships with their virtual assistants due to the tedious training process. I employ several for my internet marketing business, and trust me - by the time I have trained them - I don't want to lose them. You could be requested to perform a range of duties, from managing databases, scheduling and planning, handling emails, and a lot more. If you are tech-savvy, a virtual assistants position could be a great work from home opportunity.

rated up & useful! Thanks Mark for another excellent hub; you are truly an inspirations to those of us still 'learning the ropes'...
Spot on about the Internet being scum infested, and it's getting worse. I remember when you could search for a local service and find it, not scores of crap directories with no useful content. Sorry rant over. Newcomers beware.
Well Mark, are you hiring? :D
Very helpful thanks mister
These are all great ideas.
"you may want to get involved before the competition gets too heavy" -- this is a great push. Yes, I should step up my writing now...thanks
Much of my consulting work is now done from home.
In the 80's and 90's, I was constantly in my car. Now, with almost everyone enjoying high speed Internet, I can do many jobs by connecting remotely. This saves time and money for the customers and sometimes even lets me multitask, doubling or tripling my earnings.
Thanks for the update on WAH (work at home) opps, Mark - and the reminder about internet hazards.
nice piece of information mark:)
