Welcome to my hubpages 60 day challenge log, and hat's off to sunforged for thinking this one up. I see everyone is taking a slightly different tack and I think that is a good thing so I am going to lay out my goals and strategies here.
Goals:
Make more money. OK, next............
Just kidding. I plan to write a minimum of 30 hubpages - hopefully more, with the sole intention of making money with them, and unless you can tell me how much money the federal reserve and European central bank will conjure out of thin air and therefore what the dollar/euro exchange rate will be for the next year, setting a monetary goal is superflous.
I have done some basic keyword research and found what I consider to be several potentially profitable niches that I can rank well for here at hubpages and I have also decided I attempt to rank for a very competitive niche because I have found this to be extremely worth my time when I rank for keywords around this niche. But - it is hard to do and I am only being this aggressive because I think the community aspect of this challenge will help. Feel free to join me in any of these niches if you so desire. I am sure you will spot the hard-to-rank-for niche.

So - you are more than welcome to join me in any of these and as the challenge goes on - you will be discovering the long tail keyphrases I will be attacking. I will be totally open about where I found the keyword phrases, how well they do after the event and give as much detail as I can about what I am doing through both parts of this challenge.
Free advice - use a scatter gun approach. Do your keyword research and allow yourself to organically find some related phrases that do not show up in the keyword research tools. Don't ignore your research, but allow it to guide you rather than be a slave to it. My absolutely best-performing pages were built this way.
My commitment to the 60 day challenge
Content phase
I commit to writing a minimum of 30 hubpages and am aiming for at least 5, and possibly 10 in each broad niche. I will explain how I came to determine the particular keywords I am using as I add the new hubs.
Promotion phase:
There will obviously be a lot of hubpages produced in this challenge and it will not be practical to individually promote each page, and I will be using RSS feeds to promote the entire challenge.
I will add the 60 day challenge RSS feed to at least 4 of my own sites and I have already done this part:
I will manually submit our joint RSS feed to at least 25, possibly 50 RSS aggregators and will list them here after that part of the challenge.
If you have finished the content phase of the challenge with a minimum of 30 hubs - please leave a comment here on this hub with a link to one of your hubs and I will bookmark that hub at my personal bookmarking sites - around 30 sites. I will also add a link from my personal blog and I will manually ping all those bookmarks with at least ten ping services, which I will also list here.

Hi Mark, I'm glad you're doing the 60 day challenge - I'm hoping to learn a lot about the promotional methods and tools you use.
Something I've been thinking about is that we'll need to co-ordinate our promotions, so that we aren't all submitting to the same aggregators and using the same pingers.
Two things I wish I had - more time and an Ebay affiliate account. They turned me down. I will be reading your Hubs and learning all I can. Thanks and good luck with the challenge.

I got into Adsense a year ago and it has taken me that long to get to about $10 a day in earnings. It is a long, hard road, but I think it will start paying real dividends as a learn more and start doing things smarter.

I've been trained not to be redundant, so I guess the key is to use the words without sounding redundant? Anyway, really glad to see you take part in the challenge!

Wow! You are setting your goals pretty high. Unless you have a team to help you out or you work very fast. I like to make about five a week. I feel like this gives me a chance to do them well. I do not get burnt out doing it either. I hope you have much success with your goal because I want everyone to make as much money as they can.

Wow Mark, great productivity, I'm wondering how it is now going in monetary terms. I'm on about $2,000 a month Internet earnings so this is one of my favourite subjects and how I came to find your hub.
This is a great resource for us Hubbers. I found rss directories I wasn't aware of thanks to your sharing. Thank you and good luck! Where can I see the results of your journey? BTW, I think it is a good idea to set monetary goals, even if the exchange rate screws you up at the end, the fluctuations will be about 5% more or less, but it is much less than setting goals of say, $5 a day vs $500 a day.
